GFA Officials Commiserate With Kotoko Accident Victims

Officials of the Ghana Football Association have arrived at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi to commiserate with players and officials of the club following last night’s accident.

The team bus was returning to Kumasi after a week 22 premier league fixture against Inter Allies.

The bus had about 35 occupants made up of players and team officials. Even though details on how the accident occurred are sketchy, the bus is reported to have run into a stationary truck loaded with rice.

The management confirmed the accident on the team’s official twitter account.

Some officials of the team including the Assistant Coach, Godwin Ablordey, players Baba Mahama, Ahmed Adams, Nana Berchie and Amos Frimpong, sustained various degrees of injury, after they were stuck in the vehicle for several minutes.

Kotoko suffered a lone goal defeat against Inter Allies at the El Wak stadium, and were returning to prepare ahead of their next match against rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
